Artist in Residence

THE PURPOSE OF THE ARTIST IN RESIDENCE MINISTRY IS TWOFOLD:

The first purpose of the Ministry is to provide Church and congregational support of the arts and artists. A second corollary and self - reinforcing purpose is to provide promising artist(s) with a forum and context for their work (both in the church and in the community).

 

AIMS OF THE ARTIST IN RESIDENCE MINISTRY:

1. To bring culturally relevant art (music, literary, or visual) into the church for the overarching purposes of glorifying God, loving neighbor, and forming the people of God more into His likeness.

2. To develop personal and institutional relationships within the local arts community and artists

3. To bring culturally relevant art (music, literary or visual) into the public square through an individual with a Christian witness.

4. To enhance the worship of the church in its depth and breadth.

5. To develop artists and arts in the life of the church as a form of accessible education.

6. To provide a launching pad for artists and their art.
